Stitching Light

"Every stitch is not a mere decoration, but a record of time that has been patiently layered."

My lighting work begins with the act of stitching light into traditional Korean paper, Hanji. Through repetitive hand movements, traces of light accumulate, embedding time, emotion, and physical rhythm within.

i: HANJI

The softness and light permeability of traditional Hanji.

i: STITCH

The aesthetics of repetition, recording emotions and time.

i: LIGHT

A static yet powerful presence that fills the empty space.

INSTALLATION CONCEPT

"A Constellation of Small Presences"

The installation to be showcased at Milan Design Week 2026 is not merely about displaying lights, but about creating a constellation of breathing presences within the space. The lamps, placed on low tables, meet the visitors at eye level, allowing them to feel the texture of Hanji and the traces of stitching up close.
